Vivek Medical Students Scholarship 2025
The Vivek Medical Students Scholarship Program (VMS), initiated by Karuna Trust, is designed to support meritorious and financially challenged medical students pursuing MBBS. As professional education becomes increasingly expensive, many deserving students—especially those outside reservation categories—struggle to access quality medical education. To bridge this gap, the scholarship is sponsored by the alumni of Bangalore Medical College (BMC) and the late Dr. Iychettira Saraswaty Subbiah. The program identifies students based on academic performance, socio-economic background, and their commitment to serving underprivileged communities. Applicants from all castes and religions are considered equally, ensuring inclusive opportunities.
Documents Required
Applicants submit the following documents: 2nd PUC Marks Card Entrance Exam Rank Card Previous University Exam Marks Card (for higher-year students) Income Certificate ID Proof Address Proof Bonafide Certificate Previous Scholarship Declaration (if applicable)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Applicants must be Indian citizens. Must be a 1st year MBBS student at Bangalore Medical College or Mysore Medical College with 85% or above in 2nd PUC and an entrance exam rank within 2000. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year MBBS students must not have received any other scholarship except VMS in previous years and must have secured 70% or above in the last university exam. The annual family income must be 3 lakhs or below. For 1st-year MBBS, receiving other scholarships or education loans is not a disqualification.
