Snehapoorvam Scholarship 2025
The Snehapoorvam Scholarship, introduced by the Kerala Social Security Mission (KSSM) under the Department of Social Welfare, is a compassionate government initiative aimed at supporting orphaned children living with families, relatives, or within communities rather than in orphanages. With a strong belief that children are the future of the nation, the scheme offers financial assistance to ensure their access to quality education, healthcare, and a stable upbringing. The objective is to integrate vulnerable children into mainstream society and reduce their dependence on institutional care.
Documents Required
Applicants submit the following documents: Domicile Certificate Parent’s Death Certificate BPL Certificate Ration Card (for BPL candidates) Family Income Certificate (for APL candidates) Latest Academic Marksheet Aadhaar Card or Aadhaar Enrollment Slip Copy of Bank Passbook or Cancelled Cheque (joint account with guardian)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: The applicant must be a resident of Kerala, India. The child must have lost either one or both parents. The applicant must be enrolled in Class I to undergraduate level, or be below 5 years of age. For BPL category students, there is no income limit. For APL category, the family income should not exceed 20,000 per year in rural areas and 22,375 per year in urban areas. Children must be enrolled in government or government-aided schools or colleges. A joint bank account in the name of the child and their guardian is mandatory.
