Samyukta Gowda Saraswata Sabha Scholarship 2026
The Samyukta Gowda Saraswata Sabha (SGSS), Chennai, offers Free Scholarships (FS) on a merit-cum-means basis to deserving students belonging to the Konkani Samyukta Gowda Saraswat (SGS) community. These scholarships are designed to financially support students pursuing specific degree, diploma, and professional courses in India. The objective is to encourage academically bright students from economically weaker sections of the SGS community to continue their education. The scholarships are awarded annually, with the amount and number of awards subject to the availability of funds and applications received. Selection is made based on academic merit and financial need, as per defined eligibility criteria.
Documents Required
Applicants submit the following documents: Aadhar Card photocopy (Self-attested) Bank Passbook (First page copy) Certified photocopy of mark sheets Certified proof of parents’ gross annual income Declaration by Applicant Certificate by Head of Institution (HOI) / Principal Declaration by Parents Certificates from two unrelated prominent SGS members 5 x 4 Postal stamps Self-addressed envelope (11 cm x 26 cm) with 5 stamp Cancelled cheque leaf or bank account details page
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Applicants must be Indian citizens. This scholarship is applicable to all genders. The applicant must belong to the Konkani Samyukta Gowda Saraswat community through their father. The annual gross income of both parents combined should not exceed 2,00,000. The student must be proficient in English and enrolled in full-time regular courses (correspondence and part-time courses are not eligible). Applicants must not be employed or receiving any stipends. For fresh applications, the student must have secured at least 90% marks in the previous qualifying examination in the first attempt. For renewal applications, a minimum of 80% marks in the first attempt of the previous academic year is mandatory. The applicant must be enrolled in eligible courses: Category 1: Professional UG degrees like B.E., B.Tech., MBBS, B.Arch., BDS, B.Pharm, etc. Category 2: PG Degrees (M.A., M.Com., M.Sc., B.Ed.), UG degrees (B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., etc.), Diplomas (3-year diploma post-X or 2-year teacher training diploma post-XII). Students pursuing M.E./M.Tech., M.D., M.S., CA/ICWA, or one-year internships are not eligible.
