Prime Ministers Scholarship Scheme For Wards Of States Or UTs Police Personnel 2025
The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) is a prestigious initiative by the Ministry of Home Affairs, aimed at supporting the wards and widows of State/UT Police Personnel martyred in terrorist or Naxal attacks. The scholarship enables beneficiaries to pursue higher education in recognized professional courses, easing financial constraints and honoring the sacrifices of their families.
Documents Required
Applicants submit the following documents: Service Certificate (Annexure-A) Bonafide Certificate from institution Aadhaar-linked Bank Account Details Qualifying Exam Mark Sheets (Class 12/Diploma/Graduation) PPO/Discharge Certificate (if applicable) Disability Certificate (if applicable) Death Certificate (if applicable) Gallantry Award Certificate (if applicable)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Must be a dependent ward or widow of State/UT police personnel martyred in terrorist or Naxal attacks. Applicant must be enrolled in the first professional degree course (such as Engineering, Medicine, BBA, BCA, B.Pharm, B.Sc. Nursing, MBA, MCA, etc.) from institutions recognized by AICTE, UGC, MCI, or other government bodies. Must have secured at least 60% marks in Class 12 / Diploma / Graduation (for new applicants). Renewal applicants must maintain minimum 50% marks in each academic year. Only regular full-time courses are eligible (not correspondence or distance learning). Students already receiving another scholarship are not eligible.
