J C Bose National Fellowship 2026
The J C Bose National Fellowship Scholarship is a prestigious recognition-based Scholarship awarded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India. This highly selective Scholarship is designed to honor active scientists who have demonstrated exceptional research performance and significant contributions across all areas of science, including engineering, agriculture, and medicine. This Scholarship supports distinguished Indian scientists currently serving in recognized institutions in India. The objective of the J C Bose National Fellowship Scholarship is to encourage high-impact research by providing financial assistance, research grants, and institutional support. The Scholarship is awarded based on a rigorous evaluation process conducted by a Search-cum-Selection Committee.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: The applicant must be an active scientist with an outstanding research record. The applicant should have received the SS Bhatnagar Prize and/or be a Fellow of recognized National Science Academies (including engineering, agriculture, or medicine academies). The nominee must be in active service at the time of nomination. The applicant must be an Indian national working in an institution located in India. The applicant must not be receiving any other fellowship from any Government source. The Scholarship is open to scientists across all disciplines of science in the broadest sense.

As an fellow, you will receive: Fellowship amount of 25,000 per month (in addition to regular salary). Research grant of 15,00,000 per annum. Institutional overhead grant of 1,00,000 per annum. Initial tenure of 5 years. Extension for an additional 5 years based on performance review. Scholarship can be held up to the age of 68 years.
