Indian Institute of Technology Madras Summer Fellowship 2026
The IITM Summer Fellowship Programme 2026 is a prestigious two-month research internship offered by the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras). This programme is designed to promote high-quality academic research among talented students from Engineering, Sciences, Humanities, and Management backgrounds. Through this fellowship, selected students will undertake a focused research project under the supervision of experienced faculty members at IIT Madras. The programme aims to enhance research aptitude, academic excellence, and interest in higher studies by providing hands-on exposure to advanced research facilities and interdisciplinary learning environments.

Applicants submit the following documents: Recent Passport Size Photograph Category Certificate (If Applicable) Aadhaar Card Bonafide Certificate 10th Mark Sheet 12th Mark Sheet / Polytechnic Certificate All Semester Mark Sheets (Consolidated) Statement of Purpose Application Fee Payment Proof
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Candidates pursuing the third year of undergraduate programmes such as BE, B.Tech, B.Sc Engineering, or a three-year B.Sc with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible to apply. Students studying in the third or fourth year of Integrated or Dual Degree Master’s programmes such as M.E., M.Tech, or M.Sc are also eligible. Applicants in the first year of M.Sc, M.A, or MBA programmes with an outstanding academic record may apply. Candidates must demonstrate strong academic performance, including university ranks, seminar presentations, projects, design competitions, Olympiad achievements, or other academic distinctions. Students currently studying in any IIT are not eligible to apply.
