Scholarships are available for students pursuing postgraduate programs in universities, colleges, and institutions that are recognized under Section 2(f) or Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, and hold valid accreditation from NAAC.

Deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, with valid NAAC accreditation.

Institutions fully funded by Central or State Governments and authorized to award degrees. Institutions of National Importance.

Each student can avail of only one scholarship at a time. They cannot hold multiple scholarships simultaneously.

The scholarship is disbursed directly to students' bank accounts.

Selection is based on merit, and slots are allocated according to the government's reservation policy.

Specific percentages of slots are earmarked for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Law, Management, and other categories.

Renewals are possible on successful completion of the first year of study.

Any changes in the course of study or institution may lead to the forfeiture of the scholarship.

The application process, including verification and renewal, is carried out through the National e-Scholarship Portal of the Government of India.

Institutions play a crucial role in verifying the eligibility of their students for the scholarship.

The scholarship's aim is to promote postgraduate education in India and provide financial support to meritorious students. It's essential for eligible students to meet the criteria and follow the application process diligently.

The students receive the money straight into their bank accounts. Their bank account numbers must be linked to and validated by Aadhaar in order to do this. The Indian government has mandated that Aadhaar be used in order to process payments for all government subsidies, fellowships, and scholarships that are paid out straight into the recipient's account. As a result, Aadhaar will be used to identify permit release under the plan.
