The Malhotra Weikfield Foundation launched the Pure Sciences Scholarship Programme in 2007 to encourage and support the study of basic and pure sciences at the undergraduate level (BSc). This initiative aims to foster scientific talent among high-merit students from financially constrained families, especially those from rural Maharashtra. A special focus is given to female students due to prevalent socio-cultural barriers to their education. Each year, the foundation awards full scholarships to 20–25 deserving students based on academic merit and performance in an online aptitude test. The scholarship also involves a final personal interview to confirm selections.
