WISE Post Doctoral Fellowship 2024
The Department of Science and Technology (DST) is committed to promoting gender diversity and inclusivity in the field of Science & Technology. In line with this commitment, DST has introduced the "Women in Science and Engineering-KIRAN (WISE-KIRAN)" umbrella scheme, which aims to empower and support women from various backgrounds in the domain of Science & Technology
As part of this broader initiative, DST has revamped one of its flagship programs, previously known as the "Women Scientists Scheme," and launched the new "WISE Post-Doctoral Fellowship (WISE-PDF)" program. This innovative fellowship program is designed to create opportunities for women scientists and technologists in the age range of 27 to 60 years.

    Eligibility Criteria
  • Candidates in regular employment are not eligible for WISE-PDF. Women scientists who are temporarily employed in research or academics may apply, but they must leave their current assignment if the WISE-PDF project is approved.
  • Positions such as research staff in any project, Post-Doctoral Fellow, Research Associate, etc. will be considered as temporary assignments.
  • The minimum age to apply is 27 years.
  • The maximum age to apply is 60 years.
  • Women scientists below 27 years of age are not eligible.
  • Women Scientists must hold a Ph.D. in Basic/Applied Science or an equivalent degree such as MD, MS, MDS, etc. to be eligible for WISE-PDF.
  • While having a break in the career is not mandatory to apply for WISE-PDF, women who have taken a career break are encouraged to apply for the program.
  • This scholarship is Ph.D. programs are often available for eligible candidates pursuing doctoral studies.

    The Programme provides fellowship of the applicant Rs. 55,000 per month, Research Grant of Rs. 2.0 Lakh per year and cost of small equipment (up to a maximum of Rs. 3.0 Lakh) along with Institutional overhead charges and House Rent Allowances as per DST norms.
