Department of minorities
The Directorate of Minorities, Government of Karnataka, offers dedicated scholarship schemes designed to provide financial support to students belonging to notified minority communities—including Muslim, Christian, Jain, Buddhist, Sikh, and Parsi. These programs span across various educational levels, including Pre-Matric, Post-Matric, Merit-Cum-Means (MCM) for technical and professional degrees, and the National Overseas Scholarship for higher studies abroad.
By offering up to 100% course fee reimbursements alongside monthly maintenance allowances, these initiatives aim to lower dropout rates and ensure that financial constraints do not hinder academically promising students. All applications are processed digitally through state and national platforms like the Karnataka State Scholarship Portal (SSP) and National Scholarship Portal (NSP), with benefits transferred directly to students' Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts.
