As part of the Sony Group Corporation, Sony Research India contributes to advancing technologies that support Sony’s diverse businesses in electronics, entertainment, and financial services. Sony Research India is offering a paid 6-month Research Internship starting in the first week of March 2026. This remote internship focuses on multilingual Text-to-Speech (TTS) research and development, particularly building scalable and controllable TTS systems for Indian languages. Interns will collaborate closely with research scientists to develop state-of-the-art speech-controllable TTS systems using advanced generative AI models.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or a Master’s degree with hands-on experience in state-of-the-art Text-to-Speech model development. Applicants must have strong expertise in PyTorch. Applicants must have working knowledge of Deep Learning and Machine Learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn. Applicants must have knowledge of controllable Text-to-Speech models and advanced generative models including Diffusion Models, VQ-VAE/GANs, Flow-based models, and LLM-based generative architectures. Applicants with proven experience in building and training state-of-the-art TTS models using deep generative architectures will be preferred. Applicants must be available full-time for 6 months starting March 2026. Note: This internship is exclusively available in India. Specifically, available in Bengaluru.
