Eligibility Criteria
The Business Analyst Intern role is strictly designated for undergraduate and non-MBA master's students. McKinsey looks for candidates with strong problem-solving skills, academic excellence, and leadership potential. Academic Standing Undergraduate Students: Typically open to students in their junior year (penultimate year) of a bachelor’s degree. For the 2026–2027 recruiting cycle, this generally targets students graduating between December 2026 and August 2027. Master's Students: Open to students in their first year of a two-year non-MBA master's program (e.g., M.Tech, M.Sc, M.Com, or specialized master's degrees) with less than 2 years of professional work experience. Disciplines: McKinsey accepts all academic majors. Whether your background is in Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Science, Arts, or Law, you are eligible to apply.
Key Traits Assessed:Strong quantitative, analytical, and logical reasoning skills. Demonstrated leadership or initiative-taking in academic, extra-curricular, or professional settings. Ability to work collaboratively in diverse, fast-paced team environments.
