National AIDS Control Organisation Internship 2025
The National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, offers an internship programme designed to provide students with practical exposure to health policy formulation, programme implementation, and research in HIV/AIDS prevention and control. The internship gives participants an opportunity to work on real-time projects across divisions such as research, monitoring & evaluation, HIV surveillance, communication, care and support, legal aspects, and information technology. It is aimed at helping young professionals and scholars understand the functioning of large-scale national health programmes while contributing to NACO’s mission of reducing HIV-related infections, stigma, and discrimination in India.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: The applicant must be a graduate student who has completed at least two years of study, or a postgraduate/diploma student enrolled in a recognised university. M.Phil. and Ph.D. scholars are also eligible to apply with the approval of their institutions. Applicants should preferably belong to institutions that have existing collaboration with NACO or State AIDS Control Societies (SACS). The applicant should demonstrate good academic performance and strong writing/research skills.

Responsibilities
Interns will: Assist in research, data analysis, programme evaluation, and documentation activities. Support in the design and implementation of awareness campaigns, IEC materials, and targeted intervention strategies. Contribute to projects in specialised divisions such as care and treatment, blood transfusion services, HIV-TB services, and ICT systems. Maintain confidentiality of all official information and adhere strictly to NACO’s policies. Submit a project report at the end of the internship, both in hard copy and soft copy, for evaluation. Regularly attend assigned work, meetings, and project discussions with NACO divisions.
