The Hardware Engineer Intern position at IBM offers an exciting opportunity for postgraduate students to work with the IBM Systems Development Lab (ISDL) in Bengaluru. The internship focuses on next-generation processor development that powers IBM Z Systems (Mainframe) and IBM Power Systems. Interns will gain hands-on exposure to advanced semiconductor technologies (5nm, 3nm & beyond) and contribute to areas such as processor design, verification, pre-silicon validation, physical design, EDA, library and memory characterization, and post-silicon validation. This role provides practical experience in hardware innovation, enabling interns to build strong technical foundations in VLSI, processor architecture, and system-level development within a globally recognized technology organization.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Applicants must be pursuing or have completed a Master’s Degree in VLSI Design, Electronics, Computer Science Engineering, or other relevant hardware specializations. Applicants should have knowledge of Digital Logic Design and Computer Architecture. Applicants should have understanding of RISC-V or other processor pipeline architectures. Applicants should possess knowledge of VLSI design flow and semiconductor processes. Applicants with programming and scripting skills in Python or Perl will be preferred. This internship is suitable for freshers (0 years of experience). Note: This internship is exclusively available in India. Specifically, available in Bangalore.
