BNP Paribas India Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of BNP Paribas SA, is seeking Data Science Interns to join its Global Markets Data and Artificial Intelligence Lab in Mumbai. This internship offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and Machine Learning applications in finance, including predictive modelling, natural language processing, and data-driven decision-making. Interns will handle diverse structured and unstructured datasets, build innovative models to enhance client service, optimize trading risk management, and develop market insights. The position provides exposure to real-world business problems in a global investment banking environment, with the flexibility to explore various project topics over a 6-month period.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Candidates must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related fields. Proficiency in Python programming with knowledge of machine learning libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, and PyTorch is required. Must have a strong foundation in statistics, probability theory, linear algebra, and machine learning concepts. Proficiency in both English and the ability to communicate effectively in a professional setting is necessary. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills are essential. Knowledge of data processing, cleaning, transformation, and hypothesis testing is required. Involvement in the data science community (e.g., Kaggle, OpenML) is a plus. Note: This internship is exclusively available in India. Specifically, in Mumbai.

Responsibilities
Interns will: Explore and analyze diverse datasets from multiple sources. Perform conceptual modeling, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and optimization design. Clean, normalize, and transform data for analytical purposes. Conduct hypothesis testing through experiments. Build and maintain workflows for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL). Ensure the integrity and security of data systems.
