The Computational Materials Science Intern (MS/PhD) or Postdoc role offers an opportunity to work within the GE Aerospace Research team at the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC), Bengaluru. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Applicants must be currently pursuing an MS or PhD or working as a Postdoctoral researcher in Materials Science, Computational Science, or a closely related field. Candidates should have hands-on experience in computational materials science, preferably with a mesoscale modeling focus. Strong programming skills in C++ and Python are required. Experience with advanced modeling techniques such as dislocation dynamics, phase-field modeling, or crystal plasticity is preferred. Familiarity with HPC environments, Git, and scientific Python libraries will be considered an advantage. Note: This internship is exclusively available in India. Specifically, in Bengaluru.

Responsibilities
Interns will: Develop mesoscale computational materials models using C, C++, and Python. Study deformation mechanisms in nickel-based superalloys. Design and execute computational simulations and analyze results. Compare simulation outcomes with experimental data and existing literature. Document methodologies and ensure reproducible research outcomes. Communicate research findings through reports and presentations to cross-functional R&D teams.
