The Commodity Associate Intern (Early Careers) programme at S&P Global Energy is a 10-week paid summer internship designed to provide hands-on exposure to global commodity markets. Interns work closely with price reporting and strategic engagement teams covering oil, natural gas, power, LNG, chemicals, metals, agriculture, shipping, and energy transition markets. Based in Houston, Texas, the internship focuses on market reporting, price formation processes, research, and editorial work that supports Platts’ globally recognised price assessments and market intelligence. The programme offers structured training, mentorship, and real-world reporting experience within a leading global financial and energy intelligence organisation.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Applicants must be US citizens or Green Card holders. Students graduating in December 2026 or May 2027 are eligible. Master’s students may also apply. Candidates must be available for the full internship duration from June 1 to August 7, 2026. Journalism majors are preferred, but students from Economics, Energy Economics, Communication, Agricultural Communication, International Relations, and related fields may apply. Applicants should have writing experience or a strong interest in commodity and energy markets. Strong communication, research, problem-solving, and organisational skills are required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools is mandatory. Basic knowledge of social media, web technologies, or Generative AI is desirable.
