The Intern – CDM (Continuum Damage Mechanics) role focuses on developing and enhancing fatigue initiation prediction models using Continuum Damage Mechanics methodologies integrated with Abaqus. The objective of this internship is to mature previously developed fatigue prediction models for uniaxial and multiaxial loading conditions, incorporating plasticity effects and variable loading treatment. The intern will improve finite element implementation, adapt CDM models to complex loading scenarios, validate results with proof-of-concept specimens, and prepare detailed technical reports summarizing findings.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: The applicant must be a Graduate or Postgraduate student in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Material Science, or Applied Mechanics Engineering. The applicant should have sound knowledge of solid mechanics and finite element methods. The applicant should possess basic knowledge of structural fatigue. The applicant should have hands-on experience with Abaqus. The applicant should have experience in creating user subroutines such as UMAT, USDFLD, or UEXTERNALDB (preferred). The applicant should have programming knowledge in Fortran and Python. The applicant should demonstrate good analytical, reasoning, and research interpretation skills. The applicant should be able to work independently and possess strong communication skills. Note: This internship is exclusively available in India. Specifically, available in Bangalore.
