New Swarnima Education Loan
The Swarnima Scheme for Women is a term loan initiative introduced by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to support women entrepreneurs from backward classes. Administered by the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) and implemented by State Channelising Agencies (SCAs) acting as nodal agencies, the scheme aims to provide financial and social security to women entrepreneurs.
Documents Required
  • Proof of Identity (Aadhaar card)
  • Ration Card
  • Domicile Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (for reserved category)
  • Passport-size photograph of the applicant.

    Eligibility Criteria
  • The applicant must be a female.
  • Age of the applicant must be between 18 and 55 years.
  • The applicant must be an entrepreneur.
  • The total annual family income of the applicant must be less than ₹3 lakh per annum.

  • Eligible women entrepreneurs can avail a term loan of up to ₹2,00,000 at an interest rate of 5% per annum.
  • A subsidy amount of ₹2,00,000 is provided for self-employment. The remaining amount needs to be self-owned by the beneficiary.
  • The beneficiary woman is not required to invest any amount of her own on projects up to the cost of ₹2,00,000.

    4. Eligible applicants need to visit the nearest SCA office.
