Nabanna Scholarship 2025
The Nabanna Scholarship is a government-funded initiative by the West Bengal Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) that aims to support economically disadvantaged students in West Bengal. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students who have excelled academically, securing at least 65% marks in their Higher Secondary (10+2) examination or its equivalent. It is specifically designed to help students from low-income families pursue higher education, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their academic aspirations. Through this program, the government seeks to empower deserving students and promote educational advancement in the state.
Documents Required
Applicants submit the following documents:
  • Aadhar Card
  • MLA Recommendation Copy (if applying for the first time)
  • Exam results from the prior year’s mark sheet
  • Income Certificate
  • Caste Certificate
  • Bank Passbook
  • Self-Declaration Form
  • Mobile Number
  • A passport-sized photograph
  • Rank Card and Committee Selection’s Letter of Appointment
  • Admission Fee Receipt Book
  • Eligibility Criteria
    Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Applicants must be permanent residents of West Bengal.
  • Different scholarship amounts are allocated based on the educational level and the type of course pursued.
  • Candidates must have graduated from the State Board, Council of Secondary or Higher Secondary Education and should either enroll in one of the State’s schools or pursue a professional degree in engineering, nursing, pharmacy, or medicine.
  • The candidate must secure a minimum of 65% marks in their 10th examination.
  • The candidate must secure a minimum of 60% marks in their 12th examination.
  • Students enrolling in graduation programs must obtain at least 55% marks.
  • The annual family income of the candidate must not exceed Rs. 60,000/-.
  • Applicants must not have received any other government (central or state) scholarships or stipends for the same program or stage of study in the previous year.

  • Students pursuing general undergraduate courses such as BA, BSc, and BCA are eligible to receive financial aid of Rs. 10,000.
  • For students enrolled in professional undergraduate courses like Engineering, Pharmacy, and Medical, the scholarship amount is increased to Rs. 12,000.
  • Postgraduate-level students who have completed their graduation with marks ranging between 50-53% are eligible for a scholarship of Rs. 10,000.
