The SMILE (Scholarship Made for India’s Less-fortunate Entrants) scholarship program is designed to support students from underserved communities who face significant financial barriers to accessing education. Despite their economic challenges, these students demonstrate exceptional academic potential and a strong desire to succeed. The primary objective of the SMILE scholarship program is to empower deserving students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue their education with confidence and determination. By providing financial assistance, mentorship, and support, the program aims to break the cycle of poverty and create opportunities for these students to achieve their academic and career aspirations.
Documents Required
Recent passport-size face-only photograph of the student – write name on the back.
(Optional) Photograph of the family in front of the family house.
Original or photocopy of the student’s last annual exam report card from the school. Translate/annotate if in another language.
Application Supplement Form detailing the student’s involvement in community, school, and home activities. Attach testimonials for achievements.
Headmaster’s recommendation. If unavailable, provide recommendations from the teacher-in-charge and a respectable person who knows your family personally.
One-page request-letter written by the student explaining why they deserve the scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be Indian citizens.
It is exclusively open to both the genders.
It is exclusively open to all categories.
The scholarship award is for a High School student (9th, 10th, 11th, 12th Grade) or a college student.
It is applicable to all courses in various fields in schools or colleges.
Applicants must come from low-income families who struggle to meet basic needs.
Students must demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to their education.
Priority is given to students from marginalised communities and underrepresented groups.

B Pharm Scholarship 2024 For Meritorious Girls Students
High school students (grades 9-12) receive a monthly stipend of Rs.1000/- to Rs.1500/- throughout their high school years.
Stipend amount is determined based on both need and merit.
College students (starting from first-year college) receive a monthly stipend of Rs.2000/- to Rs.2500/- based on their field of study's tuition requirement.
Similar to high school students, awards are based on both need and merit.
The scholarship is a non-refundable grant (part refundable for college) that will be spent toward the student’s tuition, books, transportation, and other education-related costs. College students sign 50-50 Regift promissory notes (contact office).
Application Requirements
Fill the application completely in your own English handwriting.
Do not leave any item blank.
Applications filled by others' handwriting will be rejected. Continuity Clause:
After every year’s final exam, send the original or photocopy of the report card attested by a teacher to the foundation’s office within two weeks.
Send updates on additional extracurricular activities during the year. Co-curriculum Clause:
Write at least 2 book reports or essays on contemporary issues during two vacations each year. Reports must be on books of at least 100 pages.
Report any change of home address, school/college change, or dropping out of school immediately.
Notify if not planning to appear at a scheduled exam.
All communications must be initiated by the student, not parents.
English is the medium of communication.
Translate supporting documents and testimonials into English if not originally in English.
Annotation-only translation is acceptable.
Your provided data may be utilised by the foundation for fundraising. Explanation of Items in the Application:
Item 2: Ensure contact number is reachable; repeated attempts may result in application cancellation.
Item 5: State college year clearly (e.g., BE-Electrical 1st year, 2nd year).
Item 5A: Provide expected date of completing full term.
Item 7: Estimate rank if exact rank is not available.
Items 12, 13, 17, 20: Provide complete address details including PIN code and email address if possible.
Item 14: Only Headmaster’s name should be provided.
Item 15: Specify occupation clearly.
Item 18: Include salary or income certificate from appropriate authority.
Item 20: References should not be related to you and must hold positions of responsibility. Provide contact phone numbers.
Item 21: Keep receipts for verification.
Item 22: If no bank account, provide alternate payee name and address. Note: Testimonials are important. Providing extra documents not asked for may disqualify the application.
General Rules
The Board of Directors' decision is final on candidate selection.
The scholarship is normally awarded for the current full academic year, which is likely to be continued through the end of the High School grades (10th Gr for Secondary or 12th Gr for Higher Secondary) or the college years. However, it needs to be endorsed for continuation by the foundation every year.
The foundation retains the authority to cancel the scholarship any time during the year if there is a reason, such as inaccurate or false info in the application, wrong conduct during the year, etc. Any incomplete answer against any item automatically assumes the lowest point possible.
The foundation has the right to use student-provided data in the application and data generated in the following years after the first award for its own promotion (including marketing).
