Sankshema Charitable Trust, established in March 1990, focuses on Medicare, especially cancer awareness, detection, and treatment, alongside supporting economically disadvantaged students in pursuing higher education. The trust, an initiative by the Kapil Group, funds its charitable activities entirely through donations from individuals and organizations. Donations are tax-exempt under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, and the trust holds 12A and 80G certificates for tax exemption. In 1999, Sankshema launched its scholarship scheme to support meritorious students from economically challenged rural areas in fields like medicine, engineering, and commerce. The scheme began with 14 students and has since expanded to benefit thousands. The scholarships cover educational expenses, helping students complete their studies and build successful careers.
Documents Required
Applicants submit the following documents: Scholarship Award Certificate with a photo (Xerox copy). Latest Marks Memo showing a minimum of 55% marks in the most recent exam (Xerox copy). Aadhar Card (Xerox copy). Two Passport-sized Colour Photographs. Application in plain paper, mentioning the percentage of marks and including the File Number from the scholarship award certificate. Valid Email ID & Mobile No.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Applicants must be permanent residents of Telangana. This scholarship is exclusively open to both the genders. This scholarship is exclusively open to all categories. The scholarship is specifically for students from economically deprived rural communities. Applicants must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in their latest promotional exam across all subjects. The scholarship is available for students in various fields, including medicine, engineering, and commerce. Applicants must come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, and the family income is a key factor in determining eligibility. Applicants must be current recipients of the Sankshema scholarship awarded on March 17, 2024, at Brahma Kumaris Shanti Sarovar Hall, Hyderabad. The scholarship is open to students in different stages of their education. However, students who have completed their final year of the course are not eligible for renewal scholarships in the current year.
