The Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship to Lower Income Group Students for Studies in India is an initiative by the Government of Haryana to provide financial assistance to students from lower-income families, enabling them to pursue higher education within India. This scholarship aims to alleviate financial barriers for eligible students, ensuring they can complete their studies and attain recognized post-matriculation qualifications.
Documents Required
Applicants submit the following documents: Aadhaar card Recent passport-sized photograph Applicant's signature Income certificate Haryana domicile certificate Caste certificate (if applicable) Class certificate (proof of securing first, second, or third position) Parivar Pehchaan Patra (Family ID) Fee receipt from the educational institution Certificate of the last exam passed (for students beyond the first year) BPL certificate (if applicable) Father's death certificate (if applicable)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: This is open to Indian nationals only & permanent residents of Haryana. Candidates must belong to the Lower Income Group as defined under Regulation VI (iii). Eligible Courses: Scholarships are available for all recognized post-matriculation courses, including: National Fire Service College, Nagpur Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's course Courses at Training Ship Dufferin Courses at Military College, Dehradun Pre-examination training courses at centres in Allahabad and Bangalore for I.A.S., etc. Academic Requirements: Candidates must have passed the Matriculation or an equivalent examination or any higher examination from a recognized university or board. Students repeating a stage of education in a different subject (e.g., switching from B.A. to B.Com.) are not eligible. Students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine are eligible if they are not allowed to practise during their studies. Students in continuous school courses (Class XI or XII of Higher Secondary Schools) are not eligible unless their 10th class exam is treated as equivalent to Matriculation and they join other courses afterward. Candidates who continue professional studies in a different line after completing one professional line (e.g., L.L.B after B.Ed.) are not eligible. Students pursuing correspondence courses are not eligible. Multiple Scholarships: Scholarship holders under this scheme cannot hold any other scholarships or stipends. If awarded another scholarship of higher value, the student must choose one and inform the awarding authority.

Study Tours: Up to Rs. 100 per year for actual travel expenses. Thesis Typing/Printing: Up to Rs. 100 for research scholars. Special Conditions: For students entitled to free board and lodging, maintenance charges are adjusted accordingly. The scholarship may be subject to a means test, with consideration given to the total annual income of the student's parents/guardians.
