The Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust, established in 1983 by Late Shri Sat Paul Mittal, is dedicated to supporting underprivileged children in the field of education through annual scholarships. Regardless of caste, creed, or religion, the Trust is committed to assisting the weaker sections of society. The Trust continues to organise various activities such as "Jashn-e-Sahir" to recognize eminent personalities in arts and culture, "Yuva Tarang" to nurture young talent in Punjab, "Hasya Kavi Sammelans," musical events, and more, contributing significantly to the promotion of arts and culture. The Trust offers various scholarships, awards, and cultural activities and has founded the prestigious 'Sat Paul Mittal School,' a leading educational institution in Northern India renowned for its quality education. One of its notable facilities is a centrally air-conditioned state-of-the-art Auditorium, where numerous events are hosted throughout the year to promote India's rich cultural heritage.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be Indian citizens.
This scholarship is applicable to all courses in various fields. Nehru Scholarships:
Open to deserving students from weaker sections of society.
Available from Class-I to Class-10+2.
Must clear annual exams in the first attempt.
Scholarship amount distributed in two equal instalments per year.
Children of parents having annual income up to Rs. 5 Lakhs*
Orphans
Children of widows having no source of income
Children of disabled/handicapped persons. Mittal Panday Scholarship Girls [Graduate]:
This scholarship is exclusively open to girl students.
The applicant must be a student of 1st Year B.A./B.Com/B.Sc./others (Degree Courses) & BCA/BBA/B. Tech./B.Ed./others (Professional courses).
The income of parents should not exceed Rs. 5.00 lakhs per annum.
The student should have secured a minimum of 70% marks in Class 10+2.
To continue the scholarship till completion of graduation, the student must maintain a minimum of 60% marks every year.
The student should not be a recipient of any other scholarship or financial aid from government or non-government agencies.
The scholarship is limited to a maximum of two members in a family. Mittal Panday Scholarship [Post Graduate]:
The applicant must be a student of the 1st year of M.A/M.Sc/M.Com/M.Tech/MBA/MCA/M.Ed/MS/MD/PG Diplomas or equivalent.
The student should have secured 70% marks in the graduate examination.
To continue the scholarship, the student must maintain a minimum of 60% marks each year.
The total income of the student's parents should not exceed Rs. 5,00,000 per annum.
The student should not be a recipient of any other scholarship or financial aid from government or non-government agencies.
The scholarship benefit is limited to a maximum of two members in a family.
Preference will be given to recipients of Mittal Panday Scholarship Girls (Graduate).
All students receiving Mittal Panday Scholarship (Meritorious) are also eligible to apply for this scholarship. Mittal Panday Scholarship [Vocational]:
Open to ITI students for vocational training. Mittal Panday Scholarship [Meritorious]:
Students who secure the first position in the 10+2 examinations conducted by the CBSE/CISCE/Punjab School Education Board in Medical, Non-Medical, Commerce, Social Science/Humanities streams in Ludhiana District are eligible.
The scholarship is awarded to students who get admission in institutes providing undergraduate courses in Medical, Dental, Engineering, Science, Commerce, Humanities, and Social Sciences in the same year as passing the 10+2 examination.
Minimum 60% marks must be scored every year for the continuation of the scholarship till graduation.
Students should not be recipients of similar financial support from other Government or Non-Government agencies.
The scholarships are approved by the Scholarship Committee constituted by the Trust. Scholarship amount varies based on parental income:
Parents’ total income up to Rs. 5,00,000 per annum: 100% of scholarship amount.
Parents’ total income is more than Rs. 5,00,000 but up to Rs. 10,00,000 per annum: 60% of scholarship amount.
If income criteria are not met, the student receives a merit certificate and an award of Rs. 10,000. Nehru Scholarship [Armed Forces]:
Open to children of Indian Army soldiers who die in harness.

General Guidelines
Mittal Panday Scholarship Girls [Graduate]:
The scholarship is provided to students of specific Women’s Colleges in Ludhiana city.
The applicant must apply for the scholarship in their own handwriting, providing necessary details about the family.
After scrutiny of application forms, a meeting is convened by the Scholarship Committee to grant scholarships to deserving students.
Scholarships are awarded to both old and new students found eligible by the Committee.
Each college is generally granted two scholarships for Degree Courses and two scholarships for Professional Courses, subject to change based on merit.
The scholarship amount is determined based on the fee structure applicable to Degree/Professional Courses in government/private colleges for girls. Mittal Panday Scholarship [Post Graduate]:
The scholarship cheque is issued in favour of the applicant and is distributed once a year at a function held by the Trust in November during the Sat Paul Mittal National Award function.
The scholarship amount is determined based on the fee structure collected from various Govt/Private Colleges offering postgraduate courses.
For Post Graduate courses like M.Com/MA/M.Sc./PG Diplomas, students will be paid a maximum of Rs. 20,000 per year or actual, whichever is lower.
For Professional courses like MBA/MCA/M.Tech/M.Ed./PG Diplomas, students will be paid a maximum of Rs. 25,000 per year or actual, whichever is lower.
To continue receiving the scholarship, the student must provide a certificate from the concerned college along with a copy of the mark sheet indicating they have obtained at least 60% marks each year. Failure to meet this requirement will result in the withdrawal of the scholarship.
