Disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the student's bank account, preferably in SBI or any public sector/scheduled bank.

Each State/UT conducts its own examination during class 8th. The selection tests include:

Mental Ability Test (MAT): Verbal and non-verbal reasoning.

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT): Covers science, social studies, and mathematics.

Students must pass both MAT and SAT with at least 40% marks (32% for SC/ST students).

Minimum 55% marks in class 8th examination (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST candidates).
