The Help A Child Scholarship was established in 2001 as a collaborative initiative between Somaiya Grameen Vikas Kendra and supported by Somaiya Vidyavihar Trust and Godavari Biorefineries Ltd. The scholarship aims to provide educational opportunities to deserving students residing in specific operational areas. The primary objective of the scholarship is to empower students through education, focusing on those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. By offering financial support and mentoring, Help A Child aims to foster academic excellence and personal development among its recipients.
Spearheaded by Somaiya Vidyavihar Trust and Godavari Biorefineries Ltd., the scholarship program is sustained through dedicated efforts and contributions from these organizations. Their commitment to education and community welfare drives the ongoing success of the Help A Child initiative.

    Eligibility Criteria
  • Applicants must be Indian citizens.
  • This scholarship is exclusively applicable to both the genders.
  • This scholarship is exclusively applicable to all the categories.
  • This scholarship is for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Students who have passed 10th grade or above in the academic year 2023-24.
  • Meritorious students from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families are considered for scholarships.
  • Minimum percentage of marks in the 2023-24 annual/board/university exams should be more than 70%.
  • Students residing or studying within the operational areas of Godavari Biorefineries Ltd, Sameerwadi, and Sakarwadi are eligible to apply.
    Karnataka:
  • Villages/towns located within 40 km of Sameerwadi Sugar factory in Rabkavi-Banhatti, Mudhol, and Jamakhandi taluks in Bagalkot district, Mudalagi, and Raibag taluks in Belgaum district.
    Maharashtra:
  • Villages/towns located within 20 km of Sakarwadi factory in Kopargaon and Rahata taluka in Ahmednagar district.
    Professional Course Consideration:
  • NEET/CET ranks will be considered for professional courses along with 12th grade marks. Details are as follows:
    NEET Ranks:
  • MBBS/BAMS/MHMS, etc.: 50,000 (I Preference), 70,000 (II Preference), 80,000 (III Preference)
    CET Ranks:
  • BE/B.Sc.(Agri)/Nursing/B.Pharma, etc.: 25,000 (I Preference), 35,000 (II Preference), 45,000 (III Preference)
  • BE after Diploma: 1,000 (I Preference), 1,500 (II Preference), 2,000 (III Preference)
    Ineligible Candidates:
  • Students who do not meet the above eligibility criteria.
  • Students enrolled in coaching classes, competitive exams, or distance education programs.
  • Students from families above BPL status.

  • Maharashtra Students (Sakarwadi area): 13.07.2024 (Saturday), 2:00 p.m., Somaiya VidyaMandir School, Sakarwadi.
