Golden Jubilee Scholarship By LIC
The objective of the scheme is to provide scholarships to meritorious students from Economically Weaker Sections, aiming to enhance their opportunities for higher education and employment. The scholarship is applicable to students studying in India, enrolled in Government or Private colleges/universities. Additionally, it covers technical and vocational courses offered by Industrial Training Institutes/Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). Integrated Courses after XII Std. are also included. The scholarship program includes two categories: General Scholarship and Special Scholarship for Girl Child.

Eligibility Criteria
This scholarship is available for a variety of courses, including Class 11 and 12, ITI, Medical, Engineering, Bachelors, Diploma, Integrated Courses, and Vocational Courses.
a) For Undergraduate Courses (Medicine, Engineering, Graduation, Integrated Courses, Diploma, Vocational Courses):
Candidates must have passed Class XII exam (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 60% marks in the Academic Year 2022-23.
The annual income of parents/guardians should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000 per annum.
b) For Vocational/Diploma Courses after Class X:
Candidates must have passed Class X exam (or its equivalent) with at least 60% marks in the Academic Year 2022-23.
The annual income of parents/guardians should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000 per annum.
c) Special Scholarship for Girl Child:
For girls pursuing higher studies in Intermediate/10+2 pattern/Vocational or Diploma Courses through Government recognized colleges/institutions or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) for two years.
Candidates must have passed Class X exam (or its equivalent) with at least 60% marks in the Academic Year 2022-23.
The annual income of parents/guardians should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000 per annum.
Note: The scholarships are exclusively for students pursuing undergraduate or equivalent courses, including Integrated Courses. Post-graduation studies are not covered under this scholarship.

d) Special Scholarship for Girl Child:
An annual amount of Rs.15,000/-
Payable in three installments: Rs.4,500/-, Rs.4,500/-, and Rs.6,000/-
Terms and Conditions
(i) Scholarship shall be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 60% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardians from all sources does not exceed Rs.2,50,000/- per annum. Relaxations in upper limit of annual income criteria from the present Rs.2.5 lakhs to Rs.4 lakhs shall be granted only in cases where a woman (widow/single mother/unmarried) is the sole bread earner of the family. (ii) Selection of LIC GJF Scholar will be on the basis of merit such as percentage of marks in class 12th /10th and family background, annual income of the family. Final Selection of candidates shall be done on merit, based on the list of candidates eligible for selection in the descending order of percentage of marks obtained. (iii) In case of tie in the percentage of marks, students whose parent is having the lowest income shall be given preference. (iv) If a candidate is already a recipient of Scholarship from any other Trust / Institution, then such candidate shall not be considered for LIC GJF Scholarship payment. However, this will not apply to candidates receiving SC/ST Student Scholarships from the Government (State or Central) at the time of selection or receive scholarship after getting selected for Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme. (v) Candidates who gain lateral entry in 2nd Year Engineering Degree courses or take regular admission in the 1st Year of Engineering Degree courses after completing Diploma shall be eligible for GJF Scholarship provided they have passed Diploma with 60% in the immediate preceding academic year. (vi) Candidates who change their stream after getting selected for Scholarship and the course duration is greater than the stream for which the student is selected, such students will continue to receive scholarship only for the duration for which they were originally selected. However, if a candidate switches to a stream with lesser duration, then scholarship will be payable for the duration of the stream with lesser duration. (vii) Candidates who are pursuing courses under any stream through Correspondence or Part Time (Evening or Night Classes) and/or through Open Universities shall not be eligible for Scholarship. viii) Candidates who are pursuing Chartered Accountant (C.A) /CS/ICWA or similar self study courses are also not eligible for Scholarship. Golden Jubilee Foundation 4 (ix) Candidates desirous of pursuing Diploma course in any stream after Class X will be allowed Scholarship under ‘Special Girl Scholar’ or ‘Regular Scholar’ category. (x) Candidates passing Class XII (vocational) and pursuing studies in any stream as laid down under the Scholarship Scheme 2023 will be considered for scholarship. (xi) For continuation of General scholarship under Medical and Engineering stream, the candidate must secure at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in the previous annual examination of the course for which scholarship is awarded, failing which the scholarship will be discontinued. The candidate shall also clear every mid-term semester with pass in all subjects. xii) For continuation of General Scholarship under Graduation (Ars/Science/Commerce) and other courses, the candidate must secure at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous annual examination of the course for which scholarship is awarded, failing which the scholarship will be discontinued. The candidate shall also clear every mid-term semester with pass in all subjects. (xiii) Candidates selected for Special Scholarship for Girl Child’ should secure 50% marks in 11th std to become eligible for renewal scholarship. (xiv) As a rule Scholarship will be given only to one student in a family. However, two students from the same family can be considered for scholarship provided the second candidate is a girl child. (xv) The students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick shall be decided by the competent authority of the school/college/university. (xvi) Income certificate should be on self-certification basis by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper, duly notarised, for self-employed parents and from employer for employed parents supported by documents (from revenue department) such as land held in the name of parents. (xvii) If a student violates any terms and conditions of the scholarship, the scholarship may be suspended or canceled. (xviii) If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement/certificates, his/her scholarship shall be canceled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid shall be recovered, at the discretion of the concerned Divisional Administration of LIC. (xix) Out of the thirty (30) students to be shortlisted, twenty (20) students will be selected under General Scholarship (10 Boys & 10 Girls) and ten girls (10) under Special Scholarship for Girl Child depending upon merit and eligibility by the Divisional Office for grant of scholarships.
