NEC Merit Scholarship For Students Of NER 2025
The NEC Merit Scholarship is a financial aid initiative by the North Eastern Council (NEC), under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region. It aims to support talented students from the eight North Eastern states of India: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. This scholarship is designed to assist meritorious students pursuing Diploma, Degree, PG, M.Phil., or Ph.D. courses in recognized Indian institutions by reducing their financial burden and encouraging academic progression.
Documents Required
Applicants submit the following documents: Permanent Residence Certificate Income Certificate (from competent authority) Bank Passbook (in the name of the applicant) Details of the qualifying examination (marksheets/certificates) Synopsis signed by the guide/authorized official (for M.Phil./Ph.D. students) Any other document as per NSP guidelines
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Applicant must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of any North Eastern state. Must be enrolled in a Diploma, UG, PG, M.Phil., or Ph.D. program in a recognized Indian institution. The annual family income should be less than 8,00,000 from all sources.
