Margadeepam Scholarship 2025
The Margadeepam Scholarship 2025–26, launched by the Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala, aims to support the education of students belonging to notified minority communities, including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis. This initiative provides financial aid to students from Class I to Class VIII enrolled in Government or Government-aided schools in Kerala. By easing the financial burden, the scheme encourages school retention, inclusivity, and equal opportunities for minority students.
Documents Required
Applicants submit the following documents: Family Income Certificate (issued by the Village Officer) Community/Minority Certificate (issued by the Village Officer) Copy of Bank Passbook Disability Certificate (if applicable – minimum 40% disability) Death Certificate (if applicable – for loss of parent/s)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: The applicant must be a permanent resident of Kerala. The student must belong to a notified minority community (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, or Parsi). The applicant must be studying in Class I to VIII in a Government or Government-aided school in Kerala. The annual family income must not exceed 2.5 lakh.
