The Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) is a highly reputed scholarship program that nurtures meritorious science students from West Bengal. It offers both Junior and Senior Talent Search Tests and special scholarships under the Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti scheme for girl students. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Applicants must be Indian citizens & residents of West Bengal. This scholarship is exclusively open to female genders. This scholarship is exclusively open to all categories. Applicants must have passed the Higher Secondary (12th standard) or an equivalent examination in 2025 from any recognized board. Applicants should be enrolled in an undergraduate program in Basic Science, Medicine, or Engineering at an institute in West Bengal. This scholarship is available only to students pursuing degree courses, not diploma courses. Junior Talent Search Test (JTST) / Junior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti (JBKMB): Must have passed Class 10 in 2025 with minimum 75% marks or equivalent CGPA. Must be currently enrolled in Class 11 Science stream in a recognized West Bengal school. Should have at least three science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Math, Biology, etc.). Senior Talent Search Test (STST) / Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti (SBKMB): Must have passed or appeared for 10+2 board exams in 2025 (WBCHSE/CBSE/ISC/Visva-Bharati Board). Should be studying or aspiring to study Science Hons. / BS-MS / Engineering / Medicine in West Bengal. Students of general graduation, diploma, or nursing courses are not eligible.
