A strong and dynamic health workforce is at the heart of advancing global health goals. WHO is dedicated to building a diverse pool of future public health leaders through its Internship Programme. This initiative offers students and recent graduates a chance to gain valuable experience and insight into the workings of WHO's technical and administrative programmes, thereby contributing to global public health. Objectives Of Internship: Capacity Building: The programme provides a framework for eligible students from diverse academic backgrounds to engage with WHO programmes, enhancing their educational experience through hands-on opportunities. Mutual Benefit: WHO programmes benefit from the fresh perspectives and specialised knowledge brought by students in various technical and administrative fields, including communication, external relations, and human resources.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Applicants must be at least 20 years old on the date of application. Candidates must be enrolled in a university course (undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate) in a field related to WHO’s technical work (public health, medical, social), or in management, administration, communications, or external relations. Recent graduates may apply if they do so within six months of completing their degree. At least three years of full-time study at the university level is required before starting the internship. Fluency in at least one of the working languages of the WHO office of assignment is required. Applicants must not be related to a WHO staff member (e.g., son/daughter, brother/sister, or mother/father). Applicants must hold a valid passport from a WHO Member State. Candidates who have previously participated in the WHO Internship Programme are not eligible.
