Harvard Crimson Global Essay Competition 2026
The Harvard Crimson Global Essay Competition (HCGEC) 2026 is an international online writing competition organized by The Harvard Crimson, Harvard University’s oldest student-run newspaper, in collaboration with Crimson Education. This competition is designed to help high school students (ages 13–18) sharpen their writing skills, explore diverse themes and styles, and gain global recognition. Participants attend expert-led bootcamps and have the opportunity to be published, win exciting prizes, and showcase their talent on an international platform. The competition is entirely virtual and free of cost, making it accessible to students worldwide.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Participants must be between 13 to 18 years of age.
  • Open to students of all nationalities.
  • Students must be currently enrolled in high school (or equivalent).
  • Only one entry per student is allowed.
  • No entry fee is required – the competition is completely free.
