World Photography Organisation is a leading global platform dedicated to the development and advancement of photographic culture. We offer programming and competition initiatives that provide valuable opportunities for artists working in photography, helping to broaden the conversation around their work.
Sony World Photography Awards is the principal programme of the World Photography Organisation. Established in 2007, it has grown to become one of the world’s biggest and most prestigious photography competitions. The awards celebrate the work of both leading and emerging practitioners, attracting tens of thousands of visitors annually to its exhibitions worldwide.
World Photography Organisation is part of Creo, which delivers initiatives and programming across three sectors: photography, film, and contemporary art.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Open to anyone submitting single images taken in 2024.
  • Free entry allows submission of up to three single images.
  • Photographers can enter more than three images by purchasing image bundles.
  • Categories are diverse, and each photographer can enter images in different categories or all in a single category.
  • Photographers entering the Open competition cannot participate in the Professional or Youth competitions.

  • Up to three images can be submitted for free, with the option to purchase additional submissions.
  • Images should have good composition, creativity, and clarity, fitting within the chosen category's description.

  • The competition is free to enter and open to the public.
  • Entries must be submitted via the World Photography Organisation website.
  • Photographers retain full copyright of their images but grant WPO a non-exclusive, irrevocable license for promotional use for three years.
  • Entries must not infringe on the rights of others or contain inappropriate content.
  • The judges' decisions are final.
