Founded in 1912, The London Society is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the rich heritage of London. The society focuses on the city’s history, culture, and future, advocating for thoughtful planning and appreciation of London’s unique character. Celebrate your love for London by participating in the "Love Letters to London" writing competition. This competition invites writers of all ages and styles to craft prose or poetry reflecting their thoughts and dreams for the city. In honor of the 60th Anniversary of Martin Luther King’s sermon at St Paul’s, the competition will focus on aspirations and visions for London’s future.

Prizes:
Open & Poetry Categories: 1st Prize: £500 2nd Prize: £250 3rd Prize: £100 11 and Under & 12-18 Categories: Winner: £500 Four Runners-Up: £150 each Schools of the two category winners will receive £250 worth of books.
Submission Rules
Age Requirements: Under 18 for '11 and under' and '12-18' categories. 18 or over for 'Open' and 'Poetry' categories. Entry Requirements: Title required. Prose entries must not exceed 500 words; poems must not exceed 40 lines (excluding the title). Theme: “making connections” related to London’s past, present, or future. Entries must be original and written in 2024. Acceptable formats: Word or Google Docs file (no PDFs). Include title on the first page with personal details (name, address, phone number, email). Limit of three entries per person. No individual can win more than one category.
