The Central University of Punjab, Bathinda is organizing its 1st Essay Writing Competition on the topic ‘AI Implications for Democracy’, inviting undergraduate students from various disciplines to participate. Eligibility Criteria
The competition is open to all undergraduate (UG) students from any academic discipline.
Students must be from nearby educational institutions, meaning those who are enrolled in recognized universities or colleges within the vicinity of the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda.
The competition is designed for individual participation. Co-authorship is not allowed, meaning each participant must submit an essay independently.

Originality: The essay must be original and unpublished. It should not be a reprint from other sources, nor should it be AI-generated. Any essay found to be plagiarized or generated by AI tools will be disqualified.
Word Count: The essay must be between 2000 and 3000 words in length. Formatting Guidelines:
Font: Times New Roman
Font Size: 12
Line Spacing: 1.5 spacing
Footnotes: Include footnotes where necessary for citations.
Plagiarism Limit: A maximum plagiarism of 20% is permissible. Participants are required to submit a plagiarism report along with their essay to verify this. Essays will be judged on several parameters, including:
Content quality
Flow of presentation
Critical and innovative thinking
References and citations
Language and expression
Submission Details
Registration Fee: A non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 200 is required for participation. The fee should be paid through online mode (details to be provided during registration).
Submission Method: Essays must be submitted in a Word file format via email to [email protected]. The email should include the participant's name, affiliation, contact information, and a cover page as instructed.
Important Dates
Last Date for Registration: 15th November 2024
Submission Deadline: All essays must be submitted by 21st November 2024 (before midnight).
Result Announcement: The results will be declared by 26th November 2024, coinciding with India's Constitution Day.

Winner: Rs. 2100 cash prize
1st Runner-Up: Rs. 1500 cash prize
2nd Runner-Up: Rs. 1100 cash prize
Memento: A memento will be awarded to the top three winners.
Certificate: All participants will receive an e-certificate of participation.
