Sony Research India is offering a 6-month remote internship opportunity starting in May 2025 for highly motivated individuals passionate about cutting-edge research in Artificial Intelligence and related technologies. These internships are designed to provide exposure to real-world research and innovation projects in areas like Speech Recognition, Causal Inference, Neural Machine Translation, Multimodal AI, and Data Science. Interns will work closely with research scientists on advanced topics such as speech activity detection, machine learning models like Whisper and Wav2Vec2, multimodal data processing, and causal reasoning in language models.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: These internships duration is 6 months. Speech Recognition Internship: Master’s (Research) or PhD in Deep Learning/ML. Hands-on with Transformer models applied to audio/speech. Proficient in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, ASR frameworks (e.g., Whisper, Wav2Vec2). Strong ML and signal processing foundation. Good to Have: Experience with Indian languages ASR, CTC, encoder-decoder models. Causal Inference Internship: Preferred: PhD candidates (3rd/4th year) focused on causal inference. Also open to Bachelor's/Master's students with strong causal inference project/internship experience. Proficient in Python, PyTorch, causal inference libraries. Skills: Structural causal models, LLMs, potential outcomes theory. Multimodal AI Internship: Pursuing/completed MS/MSc/MTech/PhD in CS, AI, Data Science, EE, or related fields. Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn. Demonstrated experience in Multimodal AI (text + audio + visual). Bonus Skills: Kaggle participation, MATLAB/OpenCV, C/C++/Linux, research publications. Other Internships: Neural Machine Translation Internship Data Science Internship Speech Recognition Internship Note: This internships are exclusively available in India. Specifically, in Bangalore (Karnataka) & Mumbai (Maharashtra).
