Powering The Future Whiddon Memorial Scholarship 2024
The Richard and Rebecca Whiddon Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Richard and Rebecca Whiddon, who tragically lost their lives on February 24th, 2024, due to a tragic accident involving an intoxicated driver. Richard and Rebecca were deeply admired for their contributions to their respective fields and their dedication to furthering knowledge and innovation. Rebecca was a distinguished project engineering manager with expertise in lithium-ion batteries for aerospace applications and earned her Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry at just twenty-five. Richard was a skilled biomedical CNC machinist and programmer, known for his innovative use of 3D printing to improve daily tasks. This scholarship is established to support students pursuing careers in STEM fields, reflecting Richard and Rebecca's commitment to excellence and their passion for technological advancement. The aim is to continue their legacy by providing financial assistance to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to STEM and exhibit financial need.
